When we convert a lead to a contact, I am able to map a text field to a similar text field in the contacts entity. However, I would rather convert that text field into a post or a note instead. Is that possible?
That's doable using Workflows or Power Automate. Here is what you should do:
1. Create a Workflow or Power Automate Flow that is triggered on the creation of contact.
2. Check that contact was created through lead qualification - check if the "Originating Lead" field contains the data. If it doesn't - leave the workflow execution.
3. If there is originating lead and that text field contains data - create a note for that contact and use that text note from a lead as a text for the note.
You can achieve it through creating a real-time workflow.
When you Qualify a Lead, a contact can be created automatically, and the 'Originating Lead' lookup field of the contact will be populated with the lead.
Go Settings > Process:
Save and Active it.
You can also create notes with same steps in the workflow.
Wow, this was amazing. I tried it just as you laid out and it worked perfectly. Thanks so much!
