Can i use Contoso database for our Video training of Power Bi, is there any commercial restrictions or legal restrictions from microsoft to use it.
I do not see any problem if your video is intended to be internal. Have you checked if the demo data package has any usage or legal rights document attached, which should explain this?
However, if there is a commercial gain or it will be publicly displayed, you should contact Microsoft's legal/copyrights department to be sure.
Here are some general information:
Thanks for the reply, There was no Legal documents attached with the download. Actually the training is publicly displayed for commercial gain. Also i check the links provided by you, it dos not specifically tell anything about the usage of Database. Is there any email that i can do to the legal department to ensure it has or not commercial / legal restrictions in using it. it will be of great help.
This is all I could pull with a quick search. I do not think it is likely that you could use it for commercial gain unless you explicitly get permission from Microsoft.
Probably there is a contact for this, but your best bet is to talk to your own Microsoft Partner Account Manager, who should be able to help with this request and reach out to the correct department inhouse.
