I have a problem where we changed accounting structure and now the new structure is in place properly.
It is working fine for the new transactions but for the old transactions it is throwing error and not allowing to post while posting an invoice approval for the PO. The system is validating with the old accounting structure only.
We debugged the error and found that the old structure is still tagged and for the transaction system is validating the old structure only.
As you can see in the snapshot the old structure"RMCO-A1-Assets. The structure has been removed and deleted and new structure is in place but still i m getting the same error.
Also tried to find any hotfix for the same, but couldn't find it.
Thanks in advance for your time
Any change will reflect only on newly created purchase orders.
If you have old purchase orders, which are not yet confirmed/received/invoiced, the best option is to delete and recreate the purchase order.
Or, if you want a challenge, write an update job with doUpdate() setting references to your new structure/accounts.
where all places do i need to update ? any ideas ??
Hello Kuldeep Giya,
There have been a lot of hotfixes issued that overcome/fix this issue.
Have you checked them on LCS already?
What's your system version (r2/r3 cu7/8/9...)
Thanks for your time.
My version is Ax 2012 R3
i tried checking in LCS. Didnt find it
Do u know of any hotfixes ?
I don't have a machine now, and don't remember everything. One important field to look at though, would be DefaultDimension.
Try creating a new Purchase Order for the same Vendor(s), and see how this field is filled. It should be the same for old orders as well. But before doing this, I strongly recommend playing with a Dev machine first.
Hi Kuldeep Giya,
Please have a look at the following LCS link that lists a number of hotfixes released for R3 that deal with changes in account structures an posting problems (requires login)
If you cannot find a hotfix for your specify issue please contact the MS support.
I recommend not trying to implement a code adjustment yourself because you will require the help of a developer each and every time you want to make a change in your account structures, which is in contrast to the whole idea of allowing users to make changes to account structures in the AX client.
could you solve the problem ??
Yes. we used a candidate hotfix (KB3169392) to fix the same.
