I am using Dynamics AX 2012 R3
There i have a ideas that i want to create a totally dynamics form on run-time.
The ideas is I want to store a data on containers and generate related field on a temp table and display it as a form grid to allow me use standard excel export functions and filtering.
I know some of you guys may suggest using TableView but the excel export function and filtering would not capable.
So is it possible to implement? I know dynamics adding field on form grid is possible i can refer to table viewer, but adding to form data-source that i am not sure and i don't see any discussion on community.
Thanks you guys.
treeNode = TreeNode::findNode(@'\\Data Dictionary\Tables\MyTembTable\');
fieldList = treeNode.AOTfindChild('fields');
Can you tell us more about your actual business requirement? Generating tables and compiling the application in production just to export some data to Excel sounds a bit extreme to me.
Perhaps not the best idea. How about simply exporting to Excel from x++, and let the user filter in Excel?
You can still create a form with dynamic content, if that's needed too. But without grid and temp table.
Even if you manage to implement your idea (I believe it is possible), you would not be able to upgrade it in D365 so the solution would not work long term. AX2012 is approaching the end of it's life so why invest in customization that needs to be thrown away / redesigned during upgrade?
Also, if you pursue your idea, take into account that many users might open this form at the same time. The naming of the new table should not clash with other users' tables.
