We were trying to upload counting journals to AX as being end of period/fiscal year. After an upload, we validated and saw that the there were errors that inventory is closed for fiscal transactions 2/2/2020 as like below:
For this issue, we wanted to reverse the inventory close and did the cancellation for one voucher (not recalculations). The cancellation job completed with many errors saying as follows:
Can anyone please suggest a way I can get this inventory close reversed so that we can complete upload of counting journals.
The same quantity adjustment for the backlog is in any case needed now in the current period.
If you have a back up of year end prior to close then you could make the same adjustment there and then rerun your year end inventory reports from the back up..
And/Or if your year end is not closed or can be reopened then make an accrual for the stock adjustment there, and then offset against that when you make the adjustment in a current period.
Other wise if the amount is not material, then accept that there will be a loss one year and a gain the other..
Are you saying that the reversal of the inventory close did not work.
Did you reverse any later inventory recalculation that was made after the inventory close?
Hello Dr. Ludwig,
Thanks for your reply.
Are you saying that the reversal of the inventory close did not work - Yes, it has the above errors.
Did you reverse any later inventory recalculation that was made after the inventory close? - No, in usual fashion the inventory shouldn't be closed before posting counting journals for fiscal year but was closed, which caused the above errors while validating the counting journals. That closed inventory is the only thing we tried to reverse
Do you have a developer around who can take a look at this?
The issue might be related to a bug. Since you are on a very old AX version, there are no hotfixes available for that and probably the best and fastest option to go forward here is asking a developer to have a look at this.
Thanks for your suggestion. It's a small dev team including me. We contacted Microsoft and found that this was an issue with AX 2009. They provide a patch file after 24 hrs (since it was hard to find) and the issue was resolved.
Once again thank you for your help
