Hi Ax community,
I have financial dimension department,CostCentre ,purpose and projects which are initialized at project creation.During Posting the financial dimensions are available at Project Cost Account automatically but not on Payroll allocation account.
I initialize the financial dimension on employee which works well .But I need the financial dimension of project level to be reflected on payroll allocation account.
Can you test removing all findims from your employee and post a timesheet?
I did it one posting by removing all dimensions , and there is no financial dimension posting , only main account is available in voucher transaction
Can you share the exact AX2012 version that you operate?
I would need the built number.
In addition can you share details what findims you originally setup at the project, project contract (funding source) and employee level?
I have set financial dimension on employee form for an employee ( i.e Department,CostCentre , Purpose & Project ) . It get effected on payroll-Allocation account . My requirement is I need the financial dimension of Project form to be reflected on Payroll-Allocation account.
Is this is possible in the system or we need to customize the ProjJournalTrans to get the desired result.
Good Morning Mohammed,
My understanding is that if you leave the findim project empty at the employee level
provided that the findim project is setup at the project level
that this project findim will be used for the account and offset payroll allocation account when you post timesheets.
Can you verify and test that?
If it does not work, can you let us know your exact AX version that you operate?
I would like to replicate it in a similar plain vanilla environment and double check that the behavior that you see is not caused by a system bug.
If I set financial dimension on employee level it is reflecting at payroll allocation account perfectly.I need the financial dimensions of project Form to be reflected on payroll allocation account .
At Project Cost the financial dimensions of Project form are reflected perfectly.
AX Version : AX 2012 R3
Kernel : 126.96.36.199
You are running the R3 RTM version, which is quite old.
Because of that, I had a look at LCS and found a number of hotfixes that are related to the dimension problem that you mentioned.
You can have a look at them here:
Because you are at this old version, I would recommend that you get into contact with a developer who can help you debugging this problem. Once that is done, have a discussion with your developer whether an upgrade to a newer version, the installation of hotfixes or the individual fixture of this issue through a code adjustment is the most efficient way to get this issue fixed.
Did you make any progress in the meantime?
Please let us know if there is any other thing that you might need from the community.
Many thanks and best regards,
When posting an Hour Journal in AX2012 R3, we could see the following behavior:
In the class method \Classes\ProjPost\postCost(), there are separate logic to get the credit and debit entry dimensions. Below is the logic, which is built to get the dimensions:
The logic in this method is written in such a way to get the payroll allocation ledger dimension from Worker.
Having the above mentioned code, the scenario is working in this way for Hour Journals, as the code implemented is explicitly written to get the credit and debit dimensions and posting to the ledgers separately.
