After installing the AX feature pack and going through the software update checklist, i cant execute the presynchronize task. When selecting run to start the upgrade script tasks, the scripts are not processed. the status is ready, but nothing happens.
see attachement for details.
Thanks in advance, best regards Dennis

Check your batchserver settings under administration / serversetup.
Update tasks run in batch.
Thanks for your reply, you guided me in the right direction. The problem was that I did not add the appropriate batch server group. after adding this group, the scripts were executed.
hello guys! i have the same problem doing the upgrade to CU5 in Dynamics AX 2012. I have checked my batch server and has all the batch groups added to the server, but it still does not process all my batchs.
Any help would be very appreciated!!
I am having same issue for CU7 and look like Data upgrade cockpit is not doing anything......wasting almost 2 weeks now for installing CU7 in my AX 2012 R2 environment.
I need some answer asap...
also the same issue for a CU7 upgrade from CU6 - nothing but problem after problem.
everything is setup per technet.microsoft.com/.../dd309696(v=ax.50).aspx but nothing runs
any help would be great
Please refer to this article:
tried everything in that link - still same issue. This is always my second environment and attempt to update the Contoso Demo R2 database with no luck on the data update scripts before the DB sync.
it looks like in my case however its just trying to disable unique indexes on two HRM tables which don't have any anyhow. Skipping and just doing the DB sync which last time also had its own errors.
hi guys '
I faced the same issue , batch jobs were stuck with status Waiting.
i followed the link given by TOMMY(blogs.msdn.com/.../troubleshooting-upgrade-and-cu-batch-jobs-stuck-in-a-waiting-status-in-dynamics-ax-2012.aspx).
Its important to be sure that, you have set batch server for DataUpdate job, in batchGroups form, accessible via Administrator-> setup->batchGroups.
Additional steps i performed.
1. Checked what account SQL server service is running on, it was set to netweorkAuthority something... i changed it to the Administrator account. (right click sql server service ->properties -> Logon Tab check the account).
2. Restart SQL server service.
3. Restart Microsoft dynamics Ax service. ( good to have service account set to Administrator)
4.Run Microsoft dynamics ax as a administrator(right click AX client icon then right click run as Administrator)
5. Run the Presynchronize jobs run as charms.
Also make sure that, the account you are running the SQL server has dbReadAccess, DBWriteAccess, DB Access.
Hope it helps.
One doesn't always get to work in an environment where worst practices are allowed; no, it's not always best to run as the Administrator or super user if your security is setup correctly, the user doesn't matter.
It always astounds me when anyone suggests that using the administrator will fix all of your woes rather than tossing poorly written software or processes back into the lap of the developer is the appropriate answer.
Clearly, everyone is having the same problem across multiple versions of the same application and the developer has not seen fit to set the application process to reprocess a job or, allow the process to be marked as completed if it has into the process.
Similar issue but slightly different. When selecting "Presynchronise" from the software update checklist the task is alread run and marked as finished, but the presynchronise task does not update to complete and I am unable to select the next step to synchronise the database.
Installing hotfix KB 2937116 to CU7
Thanks Peter from My side...
Its Working fine now...
