Doesn’t everyone enjoy finding ‘new features’ in products they already use? I definitely keep an eye out for ’easy’ plug-ins to make life easier, without major implementation steps and restructuring the setup. Well, Microsoft has once again started their “Feature of the Day” series for the next release of Microsoft Dynamics GP, version 2013!
The Product Management and Marketing Teams for Microsoft Dynamics GP have posted the first of many GP 2013 ”new feature” blog spots – and have their Launch Portal and System Requirements for Customers and Partners created for this next major release of Microsoft Dynamics GP – 2013!
The first highlighted ‘new feature’ is the “Reason Codes” capability now added to Inventory transactions. This allows users to indicate WHY they are manipulating the inventory with an adjustment, variance, or in-transit or bin transfer. It is utilized by just creating your own company approved ‘reasons’ for making these variances, while allowing for further controls of when they can be used, and even an override inventory control account in specific cases.
For an explanation and preview screen shots of how this “INVENTORY REASON CODE” feature will work, visit Collins Computing’s GP Blog.
I can’t wait for my favorite new enhancements turn in the daily feature, so I can get an idea of exactly how to turn them on and take advantage of them right away!
