The long awaited for PTE Timesheet Functionality released with GP 2013 R2

With the news of Human Resource & Payroll Timecard Entry blog releasing last week, I had many ask me, does this integrate with Project, or what about Project?

No need for alarm, yes we have something for Project too and it is called PTE Timesheet that released in GP 2013 R2 as well.

This allows users to enter Project Timesheets, and they will flow through the new Workflow 2.0 approval workflows that the users create.

Employees have the ability to save templates and enter their time using their saved templates.  You can also set up delegates who can enter time for other employees, if they are unable to do it themselves.

This too is part of the Business Portal Project Time and Expense replacement strategy.  The rest of Business Portal replacement work for project expense entry will be completed with the GP 2015 release.

    One of the biggest missing in the new PTE embedded into GP is the fact that no reports are available for the Timesheets and Employee Expenses... For us this was the show-stopper to upgrade to 2015R2... Our employees fill out every month Expense reports thru the Business Portal, which gets approved by the manager by signing the report printed out from BP and checking all the receipts attached to the EE report. Once approved, it gets forwarded to the AP clerk who makes a payment to the employee bank account. The EE reports get filed for later review in case of an audit.

    Microsoft confirmed that there is no report, neither in the Web Client nor in the full GP client available, though the printer icon is visible in the Web client, but nothing happens when trying to use it.

    PDK goes away as does BP, which doesn't mean it wouldn't work with GP 2015R2, but then it becomes an unsupported configuration by Microsoft...

    MS promised there would be some kind of electronic attachment option in the next release in GP 2016... but still no reports. Because of this, we revised our upgrade option to GP2013R2, which still uses BP & PDK.

    Does the workflow works at the document or line level? I want to have a workflow where the Project Manager approves all the timesheets of his project and some users can enter working hours to more than one project in the same timesheet?

    Hi, I have to say the Timesheet comments is not very good. For example, if user forgot to enter comments for one day, and go back to enter the comments again, this comments will not save properly; or it will pull out some old comments which totally not related...
