Dynamics CRM Tip: Multiple Sorts on Views

Community Member Profile Picture Community Member Microsoft Employee

Today it is important for companies to be able to see as much data as possible, as quickly as possible in order to make informed decisions. In Microsoft Dynamics CRM you are able to sort your accounts by State then by revenue and then again by number of employees, allowing you to really nail down into the data you wish to see. Or it can also be used to sort contacts by company and then again by title or status to ensure you are contacting the correct individuals to increase sales at that location.

How to sort multiple columns on View?

  • Click on the first column header
  • Hold down “shift” key
  • Click on the second column header

Now you will have a second column as the sub-group of the first. Note: You can sort any number of columns until you get the right data groups.

This works for Entity views:

Multiple Sorts 1

Subgrids on forms (for form may highlight funny but it will still work – to remove the unwanted highlighting click anywhere on the form:

Multiple Sorts 2

Views opened from dashboards:

Multiple Sorts 3
