Resetting the System Password

Steve Gray has posted the SQL Code to reset the system password in Dynamics GP. This is the internal system password not the SA password. You can also recover the existing system password without resetting it using the DDB utility.

Steve's method requires that the SQL user have rights to update the SY02400 table. Typically the SA account is used. The DDB utility uses GP security for it's login which is why it can decrypt the system password. However, since DDB uses GP security IF the user has appropriate rights in GP.
