Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – Business without silos, actionable insights, built to evolve

Microsoft has announced Dynamics 365 Business Central, which will be generally available April 2nd, 2018.

Business Central is the latest evolution of what was called “Business Edition”, and includes robust functionality for Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales and Customer Service. Designed for SMBs that have outgrown their limited accounting software, Dynamics 365 Business Central offers affordable entry into ERP with a full suite of modern, modular applications that work better together and scale with you as you grow.

By choosing Dynamics 365, SMBs can take advantage of the vast benefits of Office 365 and Azure cloud services like Business Intelligence, IoT, built-in security and other services that make Microsoft the most complete and secure cloud solution provider for business.

Dynamics 365 Business Central Functionality

Full ERP in the cloud for growing businesses

Dynamics 365 Business Central continues to break down the silos between departments and lines of business. Where “Dynamics 365 Business Edition” focused on Financials, Sales and Service, Dynamics 365 Business Central expands deeply into Operations and Supply Chain Management to offer full ERP functionality. Essentially, Dynamics 365 Business Central includes all the functionality of Microsoft’s leading ERP for midsize businesses, Dynamics NAV, built for the cloud.

Dynamics 365 applications are modular, meaning they can be purchased separately or bundled, and work seamlessly together on one common data model. Unlike traditional, “all-or-nothing” ERP solutions, Dynamics 365 lets you start small and grow as you go.

Beyond connecting and automating the processes between critical departments like sales, operations and finance, Business Central integrates seamlessly with Office 365, Power Apps, Microsoft Flow, Power BI and other Microsoft cloud services.

Business Central Pricing and Licensing

Dynamics 365 Business Central will be available at two price points:

  • Business Central Essentials – $70 user/month
  • Business Central Premium – $100 user/month

The difference between Essentials and Premium: Essentials includes everything but Manufacturing and Service. Premium includes all functionality.

Transitioning to Business Central from Business Edition

New and Existing customers of Business Edition will be “grandfathered” into Business Central. Microsoft has a transition plan for Business Editions users – for more details, please contact us.

Upon transitioning to Business Central, current customers will gain access to the more robust capabilities included in Business Central (like Operations and Supply Chain Management).
