Date/time format is not valid –Track in CRM error

While helping a building materials manufacturer with their Microsoft CRM Online implementation – I’d ran into this Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Outlook Client issue.  On some Outlook Contacts, when trying to Track the Outlook Contacts to CRM – this error message came up:

The date/time format is not valid, or the value is outside the supported range.”

The issue turned out to be an invalid date value in the Outlook Contact’s Birthday and Anniversary fields.  The funny thing was that both fields were displaying “None” in the Outlook Contact form:

I had to perform a select all in the Birthday and Anniversary fields and then clicked on the delete key to clear the values.  Afterward – Track in CRM works fine.
