Mobile CRM for Microsoft Dynamics
With the release of Dynamics CRM 2013 (and an updated version for CRM 2015) Microsoft released a free Mobile and Tablet app. This is available on Windows, iOS and Android and is a great addition to the product. This is an area that Microsoft are taking very seriously and the roadmap shows some exciting things with an improved phone interface and the ability to create “draft” records when you have no signal/wifi and sync when you can connect to the internet.
The free to use solution lets you have a taster of Resco Mobile CRM and use the app for all standard forms or entities (any custom configuration will not be pulled through), the paid for app gives you full flexibility and have some great features that we love and have rolled out to customers. These include:

- Enterprise Security – the ability to manage users and devices centrally. Force data synchronisations, remote wipe and manage licenses for users and the tablets/phones they use.
- Offline – this is the big one. The ability to take as much (or as little) data as the organisation wants offline. This allows remote sales users to take all their customers, cases and opportunities offline, work on them and then push back to the CRM Server when they get a connection. For remote users who work in the countryside or just have poor 3G/4G access this is the key driver for Resco.
- Flexibility – Resco provides a platform to build custom mobile applications using Dynamics CRM as the backend. The ability to create product demonstrations, catalogues and custom forms is fantastic within Resco.
- Maps – plot all your customers, opportunities even activities on a map to visually see where everything is and help plan your day. With the built in GPS on your tablet and phone you can then open your mobile maps app and get directions to assist you on the road.
- Calendar – a full calendar is available within Dynamics CRM that shows CRM activities as well as bringing in personal appointments from your own device’s calendar. This means you can use 1 calendar rather than switching between 2 different applications.
- Adding Media – the ability to take photos with your devices camera and attach it to CRM records, record audio as well as using your device to record electronic signatures are all great additions to CRM using features of your smartphone or tablet.
