I have set up a few companies in D365 BC and I have noticed a column called Setup status.
At first I thought this may be to do with completing the assisted setup routines but after looking into one of the companies with complete there was only one assisted setup task completed.
I now think that these companies were created with the status evaluation or production and it is just showing the status of the data package it must be applying.
Can anyone confirm or add any further light on this ? or does anyone know how to change this ?
As I think my customer may ask me why they do not all say complete and I am not certain of the answer to give !
The setup wizard has these options:
1) Evaluation - Sample Data: this creates a company that is similar to the demonstration company with sample data and setup data.
2) Production - Setup Data Only: this creates a company that is similar to My Company with setup data but without sample data.
3) Advanced Evaluation - Complete Sample Data: this creates a company with setup data and complete sample data for all features, including Manufacturing and Service Management.
4) Create New - No Data: this creates a blank company without setup data.
The Setup Status field shows when the new company is ready for you, so when the template is applied.
So I am correct then it is blank as I created them with no data and imported packages
Renni I don't think that this is true. If you copy companies, with data, that field will also be blank. That field shows as completed ONLY if you create the company and select the data as Stefano stated. I would be interested as to what else drives the field that you are referring to.
Yes that is correct,if you copy you have not run the start up package that goes with the option you pick that have been stated by Stefano above apart from no data option 4
