My company is an Microsoft Action Pack Subscriber and Partner and part of the CSP program. I had a few questions regarding Dynamics 365 for Financials. As part of our Action Pack, we are able to use Dynamics 365 Enterprise Plan 1. We also saw in our Admin Center that we have licenses for Dynamics 365 for Financials for IWs. Question 1, what exactly is Dynamics 365 for Financials for IWs? We did trial Dynamics 365 for Financials before realizing we had the licenses for Dynamics 365 for Financials for IWs. We were going to sign up for subscription but when we tried it sends us to find a Microsoft Partner. When I called Microsoft Partner Support, they assumed Financials was part of Dynamics 365 Enterprise Plan 1. I did go ahead and assign one license of Dynamics 365 for Financials for IWs to myself but that did not seem to help with the subscription. Question 2, how are partners able to use Dynamics 365 for Financials?
Dynamics 365 for Financials would be perfect for us and would allow us to get rid of a few other applications for similar functionality and seems to fit right in and fill a gap with Dynamics 365 Enterprise Plan 1.
Does anyone know the answer to these questions?
Dynamics 365 for Financials for IWs is the trial. Financials is not a part of any package license (Enterprise Plan 1 for example). You do not automatically have access to Financials through an Action pack or because you're a CSP.
As a CSP you can get an IUR license. This is on the Partner FAQ:
Are Internal Use Rights (IUR) available for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials?
Yes. Dynamics 365 for Financials Internal Use Rights (IUR) are available on a limited basis at this time to partners in the US and Canada who meet local requirements. If you are interested, please send an email to d365-smb @ microsoft.com.
If you wanted to actually purchase Financials for Live\Business use I believe you would still need to go through another CSP. I think they're looking into a way to change this but there isn't a method for doing this yet. The problem is that a CSP partner is required to purchase and you cannot currently list yourself as the CSP.
I've been attempting to leverage Dynamics for our internal business production (we are a CSP). I've been trying to do this for nearly 4 weeks. I've opened cases with partner support, Dynamics sales, our distributor, etc... According to MS support, a CSP cannot add a CSP to their tenant. I'm in an infinite loop. I'm desperately seeking advice.
With MAPS Dynamic 365 I have received license for Dynamic 365 Customer Service Pan. Does MAPS internal usuage for CSPs include all the features of "Customer Services Plan" e.g. Sales, Customer Service etc.
Any help is really appreciated
We are also a CSP and I emailed the address listed above for an internal use rights license (d365-smb @ microsoft.com) and got the email returned with:
Your message to firstname.lastname@example.org couldn't be delivered.
d365-smb wasn't found at microsoft.com.
I also spent 4 hours on the phone with partner support trying to find someone that could help but that was futile.
I also scoured documentation on how to use the D365 system and, while there are MANY pages, none of them were of any help!

There is no way to get CSP licenses for Business Central at the moment. At Directions conference they said they were working on it.
You can use Demos.microsoft.com or Docker environments if you need to access it.
You can also sign up for a tenant here - trials.dynamics.com/.../BusinessCentral
When I try to use the trials.dynamics.com - it tells me "no need to sign up - you already have a license for Dynamics 365 Business Central". I click OK and get an error, "You do not have the following permissions on TableData General Ledger Setup: Insert. To view details about your permissions, see the Effective Permissions page. To report a problem, refer to the following server session ID: '7091'."
I keep clicking OK and it appears to be in a loop - with the same two dialogs mentioned above repeating with a different session ID each time.
I need to set up a new company and get it running - EVEN if I have to pay for it - but don't know where to go or what to purchase for this.
You won't be able to setup a new company without a license. You can only purchase a license through a CSP partner.
You can try appending the following onto the end of your Business Central URL - /?company=CRONUS%20US&
That will force you into your CRONUS sample company. If that doesn't work, you'll need to have someone with administrative access give your user access to the environment.
I see 2 users with Admin access to your Business Central environment, you're not one of them. You'll need to open a support case to get more info as I can't post it on a public forum.
We "are" a CSP partner. Can you tell me how we buy a license from ourselves? Can you send me a link to where I need to create a ticket?
