I need some guidance on creating custom views for lists (purchase orders, purchase quotes, etc). We have team members from different departments raising PO/PQs including HR. HR POs and PQs are sensitive and we do not want rest so the business to see Purchase Orders /Purchase Quotes raised by HR. (HR is a department dimension).
Is it possible to customise views and assign them to users that limit their views of purchase orders and purchase quotes to all departments except HR?
I have also tried security filtering in Permission sets but by doing that I was able to limit viewing access by department but the downside was that users were not able to raise purchase quotes as they were getting an error message that security filtering is on.
I am not a developer but administrator so any solution you can share to restrict users from seeing HR related documents would be ideal.
The users can create their own views and save them, if you want to handle it then you might have to add some kind of filters on the page or create new list pages with filters.
Thank you for your response. I do not want users to apply the filter. Its a large team and some might not apply it or even if they do, it gives them the ability to still view documents they are not supposed to see.
I have since been able to restrict access by applying security filters in permissions sets to Purchase Line (table 39). I ideally wanted to apply the filter to Purchase Header table but that didnt work properly.
Users can now not open the document related to HR but HR documents still appear in the list of PQs and POs. Ideally i want to create a corporate level view filter that removes HR related documents from the list.
The link you shared only deals with personal views and not corporate ones.
As I mentioned If you want to handle it at the company level you need some kind of personalization or try to check the Responsibility Center functionality.
