Hello;

Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a massive platform with tons of functionality put in place. A great way to learn this platform is to understand what's already put in place for you. This includes Microsoft's architecture and design decisions on different features within the platform. Today we're going to talk about the out of the box "Ready-to-Use Business Processes" and then look at one of them.

There is a ton of great information on creating business processes like https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/Dynamics/crm-customer-center/create-a-business-process-flow.aspx

Installation

Microsoft provides ready to use business processes you simply have to just install them. Head to Settings then to Data Management and select Add Ready-to-Use Business Processes.

When selecting to add the business processes you get prompted to confirm installation. This will finish the installation. The dialog that appears should look like the following:

Understanding what's been installed

This brings 10 different business processes into your organization. I'd recommend reading about each them at: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics/crm-customer-center/add-ready-to-use-business-processes.aspx. This page does a great job documenting what's installed and there purpose.

Business Process Flow Designer

Let's open the designer by going through the default solution and opening one.

The new designer introduced in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is completely reworked and much more user friendly. It allows you to have a nice user interface that shows logically what your business process flow does. In this flow you see the full flow of how a lead entity converts into an Opportunity entity all through the business process flow. It's a great example to learn from as you build your own for your customers.
