I am new to managing CRM and I need some assistance, I was never properly trained on this system and it looks like it got dropped in my lap.
I need to know what the correct way is to troubleshoot permissions issues.
for example I got this log file:
Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=220.127.116.11, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: Principal user (Id=1e293c7b-3e08-e411-b51b-0050568e7ef8, type=8) is missing prvCreateWorkflowSession privilege (Id=e55f57a8-2df4-11df-a824-001cc4661706)Detail: <OrganizationServiceFault xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/xrm/2011/Contracts"> <ErrorCode>-2147220960</ErrorCode> <ErrorDetails xmlns:d2p1="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/System.Collections.Generic" /> <Message>Principal user (Id=1e293c7b-3e08-e411-b51b-0050568e7ef8, type=8) is missing prvCreateWorkflowSession privilege (Id=e55f57a8-2df4-11df-a824-001cc4661706)</Message> <Timestamp>2014-07-18T14:44:45.992151Z</Timestamp> <InnerFault i:nil="true" /> <TraceText i:nil="true" /></OrganizationServiceFault>
And by searching the internet I was able to correlate the prvCreateWorkflowSession privilege to the Dialog Session under the customization tab for the role in question. I do not see how I would be able to connect these two dots on my own.
Any assistance would be helpful.
The error means that the user does not have the Dialog Session Create Privilege in their role(s).
You need to edit the role that they are assigned and add:
Hope this helps,
Thank you, is there a way to cross reference this without having to dive into the SQL database?
The format of the privilege is the transaction type followed by the entity name.
Hope this helps
