Installation of dynamics crm 2011 was done on virtual server without sql installed on virtual server, i was also trying to install reporting extension on the virtual server, the field to select ssrs instance was blanked.
Will be glad for quick response.
Is your sql server Named Instance or default instance? If it's a named instance then you to install SRS connector through cmd with Install_config.xml where you will need to specify your instance name.
If you have named instance then you need to add and update following tag in the install config
The sql instance was left default instance when installing sql, and the installation of the srs connector will be done on the virtual machine, not the sql server.
waiting for your response chitra.
Do you have sql server and reporting services installed on the same Machine?
Are you able to browse the Reporting services URL
sql was installed on the server, while srs connector will be install on the virtual machine.
Are you able to browse through Reporting services url where you are trying to install SRS connector?
I was not, it show a drop down but nothing was there.
You need to run the Reporting Extension installation on the SQL server - not the CRM server.
1.Do you have Sql server and reporting services installed on different servers?
2. You have to install SRS connector on Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services server.
You should install the SSRS Connector in the server that having the SQL Server Reporting Services installed, not in the application server.
And make sure that you are using SQL Server 64bit
Hope this helps!
Reporting extension can only be installed where the SSRS instance is installed.
I tried SQL machine for SRS Installation It doesn't work my report service Url working perfect
i am new to setting up a server and all things come with it, i have followed a guide for installing MS Dynamic CRM 2013 on VM, and when it comes to the installing of CRM reporting Extension i get an empty SSRS Instance, i am using the following :
- Windows Server 2012 R2 x64
- Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and tried also Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Express.
I am using two different server I tried SQL Server Machine this ssrs Installation
and this is the issue i am facing:
and these are my settings on Reporting service configuration manager:
The reason why you have empty SSRS Instance while installing CRM reporting Extension is because SQL is not installed on the CRM server......
So U said same machine to Installa CRM And SQL why ?
My initial setup was SQL Enterprise 2017 and Dynamics 365 9.0; and to get around this error; I did the following;
1. Install SQL Server 2016 Standard SP2 (New Instance) with Reporting Services, DB & FTS
2. Uninstall Dynamics 365 v9.0
3. Re-Installed Dynamics 365 v9.0 and pointed it to my new SQL Instance so that i can have the CRM_Config DB
4. Ran my SetupSrsDataConnector and installed and in my drop down, i could see my SSRS Instance.
Hope this helps if you are not to far with your deployment!
