I'm trying to install CRM 2015 on a pretty locked-down server and keep getting two errors in the 'install_log.log' file and setup fails:
I checked all privileges/permissions required for the two service accounts, but these errors keep occurring.
Here's the fragment from the 'install_log.log' file:

Any help is appreciated in fixing these errors. The event log doesn't show any errors or other details.
This step in the install checks the permissions of the service accounts and determines if they are a member of the PrivUserGroup in Active Directory. It could be that the user you are running the install under does not have permissions to access Active Directory to query the service account user?
Thanks for the answer. This sounds very plausible.
When the installation user uses a small AD tool like 'ADExplorer.exe' it can query the target Active Directory, so that's strange.
But I think the problem is that the user I'm using for the installation is in a different Active Directory than the Servers and Service Accounts.
I requested a new user in the same AD which I can use for installing CRM. That should probably fix it.
