May I know how to import products in Microsoft Dynamics crm 2013. while I am trying to import Products same as like invoice but its showing error while i am importing products in Microsoft dynamics crm 2013.Then what is parent product , and Bundle in Microsoft Dynamics crm 2013. Then how to make a phone to the particular contact through crm 2013?
Just importing products wont work here, you need to import price list and price list items too. I suggest you to export data template for products, price lists and price list items from CRM.
Fill all data templates with corresponding information and then.
For understanding of products suggest you to read this
Hope it helps!
ok Abhishek let I have a try as per you said. How to make phone call , mail through microsoft Dynamics crm 2013?
It sounds as if you are making some progress.
What is the error you are getting?
Parent Product and Bundle are just ways of grouping products.
You should be able to bring product records in with both of those fields blank.
Have you brought in your Contact records yet?
If not you can create a spreadsheet with columns for First Name, Last Name, Business Number, Mobil Number, Company Name in a similar way as you brought in your Accounts.
You record a phone call / track/send an email through Activity records in CRM.
Do you use Outlook? Has the Outlook/CRM integration already been set up?
Actually I just give the Product name in my Excel sheet And try to import my excel sheet in Crm. In that mapping part only I got error.
To create a mail or a phone call, click on quick create (That would be the + sign at top of your ribbon)Icons are arranged as tasks, phone calls, mails and Appointments.
Once you click on Phone call or email it will take it its respective form where you would have to select recipients accordingly.
Since you are new to CRM, I suggest you to read this too.
Then Mscrmba, can you send me any videos or Url link for how to make real phone call , Email through crm 2013 or else can you provide me some steps.
Yes Abhishek I totally new for Microsoft Dynamics crm
Mscrmba, while I am try to import products in crm I got error code 0x80040216 and its ask for Product Id is missing?
Abhishek is right - there are some things you need to understand and set up before you bring in your list of products.
This link gives you a great overview - and a picture I would print out and work with.
Product ID is like a product number (that you might have as well as a Product Name and product Description). It is a key field in CRM. You can put your product name into both the product name and product ID fields if you want to.
This link is great for basic training e.g. How to create Activities etc. There are slight differences between CRM 2013 & 2015 - but the look and feel is very similar.
You need to assign a product Id in your data template, if that field is missing the import job shall not be successful.
Your template would be something like this
ID,Product Name,Subject,Unit Group,Default Unit,Decimals Supported
123654,Test import product,Default Subject,Default Unit,Primary Unit,2
In these fields, lookup type fields are -Subject,Unit Group and Default Unit. Here,Default Subject is the Title of an existing Sample Subject,Default Unit is the Name of an existing Unit Group and Primary Unit is the Name of a existing Unit in the Default Unit (Unit Group). This file gets imported as it is.
ok , I am totally new for this crm so only I have lot of doubts. and i need to say thanks to mscrmba and Abhishek for the suggestion.
ok Abhishek, Let I have a try as per u said .

How many products do you have?
How many different price lists are you needing to create?
If there's not many you may find it's easier to set some of this up manually in CRM.
If you want to get the format, then go to a Price List (under Settings>Product Catalog) Open one up.
Go down to the sub-grid of Price List Items and click on the cream cracker icon (square icon) to bring up a list view of price list items. Select some sample records. Click on Export Price List Items & then Export.
Make sure you have done all the basic set up (as per the training materials I really suggest you read) before you try to bring the data back in.
