Has anyone developed a workflow that closes out open campaign responses automatically when a contact is deactivated? Still very new to Dynamics and workflows.
You wouldn't be able to do this with workflow out-of-the-box if you follow best practices. You technically could create a workflow on the Campaign Response that "waits" for the status on the contact to change to inactive, but having a lot of "waiting" workflows is not recommended for performance.
A better solution would be a plug-in or a custom workflow extension that fires on the status change of the Contact. If you don't have the programming skills on your team to do this, then you might consider just creating an Advanced Find of Campaign Responses associated with inactive contacts and periodically closing them out.
