Our customer is planning to migrate CRM 4.0 to CRM online 2015. The customer requested an overview of customizations added to the current CRM.
Are there any tools or best practices to extract useful information from the customization.xml file. Think of custom field types, forms, views, scripts etc. It should be in a well readable format (e.g. Excel).
You can use document generator for CRM 4.0 which can get extract information from your CRM 4.0 and will provide you excel file regarding metdata : crm4documentation.codeplex.com
I don't think there is any utility that will get your details from xml file.
I tested the tool and it worked for me. It extracts Forms, fields and scripts.
