I've added a custom button in contacts ribbon using visual ribbon editor and for some reasons I don't want to show it to any user. The Hide button works well for OOB button but for custom buttons is disabled. Please have a look into following image. How can I hide the custom button that I've created now?
I think it would be better to report this issue to the Visual Ribbon Editor product site.
Maybe they can provide you a solution.
I would suggest using the Ribbon Workbench for this - it allows you to edit custom and ootb buttons. See www.develop1.net/.../Ribbon-Workbench-for-Dynamics-CRM-2011.aspx
I've deleted the button after UN-attaching the command of the button.
Thank you Scott, but ribbon work bench do not allow to hide custom button.
To hide a custom button using the Ribbon workbench you would:
1. Create a solution with your entity inside it
2. Load that solution into the Ribbon Workbench
3. Locate the button on the design surface
4. Right Click->Hide Button
Scott, it allows to hide only system buttons. Such as, New, Edit and Delete etc.
I have the same issue, where you able to resolve this without deleting the button?
without deleting the button?
