I have two solutions which I want to merge before exporting to Production.
Currently I add components from solution 1 to solution 2.
Is there a better/easier way to do this?
Refer this, it explains deeply:
Import Solution1 & Solution 2 into another new organization.
Create a new solution and add the components of both solutions manually
This would be easy if you have less components
Export the 2 solutions->Extract the Solution --> Open both the solution in Notepad->Extract the saved solution .zip folders
Open “Solution.xml” files in both solutions in a notepad (Solution.xml)
In the “Unique Name” node, provide same unique name in both “Solution.xml” files
Import them back to new a organization After the import, you can see the new merged solution.
Hope it Helps!!!
If you are talking about un-managed solutions, then you can simply create a new solution and include all the customized components in this solution and can export, for prod environment. But if both are managed you need to take them separately to prod.
you can create a new solution and add components from both solutions in the newly created solution.
i have a problem with two solution.
I convert the two solution from managed to unmanaged by hacking the database (tables: "Solutionbase" and "SystemFromBase").
The two solutions have each other dependencies.
If i try to import one of the solution, i getting errors message, that some components of the another solution is missing (vicious circle).
I think, to resolve the problem, you have to merge the xml-file, but how?
The easy way to merge the two solution by importing the solutions with same unique name is in my case not possible, because the imports fails.
i have 80 solutions to merge which are made prior joining me and and i created a new one and did much work on it and tried to merge all in it through adding components but some relationships and fields are not getting added add errors with missing required components which are also not getting added
more over multiple solutions having much things in common
the project was already a mess
Does using same unique name in xml help me with less errorred solution
I am faceing the Problem of meraged two different soultion in Single Solution.
