Removing a Marketing list member results in the following error:
<Message>A validation error occurred. The value of 'membercount' on record of type 'list' is outside the valid range.</Message>
The value of membercount for the current Marketing list is "0". This is incorrect since the list has members.
How can I solve this?
The membercount is out of sync with the contacts inserted into CRM. Some contacts where added to the Marketing List through a migration tool.
Is there a way to recalculate the membercount?
the marketing list is static or dynamic?
It is a static Marketing List.
The issue is fixed by Microsoft support team. The membercount field is recalculated in the database.
Are you sure you don't have a plugin that is triggered when a member is removed from a Marketing list? If no,Please download the error log file and attached it here to check.
There is no plugin. The issue occured only with migrated Marketing Lists. Other marketing lists work fine.
you can edit the membercount attribute in the listbase entity in SQL
check the member count in CRM's Marketing lists' Members
add this value to the membercount
Customize the form and add the field Member Count.
Update it with the total number of marketing list members associated.
I'm running on Dynamics 365 version 1612 (22.214.171.124) where we have experienced the exact same problem.
What triggers recalculation of MemberCount? Is the database responsible for the recalculation?
I haven't found a way to track when and why the numbers don't match, only monitor that it happens once in a while.
