we are using O365 (Exchange Online) with CRM Online.
I am using the outlook client and if I click on the apps Dynamics CRM (CRM App for outlook) then everytime it tries to authenticate first, and this process take a while. Are there anything else I have to setup ?
Same here - been that way since I installed it.
The Salesforce one authenticates in about one second. The Microsoft one currently takes about 6 seconds to total come "live". I have tried my tenant, and 2 demo tenants - all with the same results.
Makes is difficult to recommend in place of the regular CRM add-in.
The "authentication" piece appears to take the longest. After that, the record/page comes up in about 1 second.
I'm just now trying out the 2016 "app" for Outlook. Testing it with Outlook 2016 on Windows 10 desktop. Painfully slow to fire up. Our primary use for it is to track email messages and it's just too slow. I'd hoped to replace the large Outlook add-in with the app, but now I'm not sure where to go on this.

We also have the same issue. It takes 10 seconds until the content is visible.
Would be nice to know if, how and when it might be resolved. Else we must return using the bulky outlook client.
I can update by saying after the 2017 Dynamics refresh, the App is performing much faster now. It's actually usable for me - although still lacking some features. Looking forward to the next version -
Amen. Our org is on Dynamics 365 V9.0. All users are finding the App for Outlook to be frustratingly slow.
