I'm looking for a simple way to add a very long service activity (7 days +) that would exclude the week-ends.
The issue here is that if I define a service that has for example 7 days, the service calendar will count Saturday and Sunday as being worked when they are not leaving me 2 days short. I have attached an example where I would expect the calendar to skip Sunday and add the last day on Monday but it only gives me a warning that my resources is scheduled outside of his working hours.
I know that I could create 2 separates activities (one being 5 days and another 2 days the next week) but it would add a lot of extra work when we having longer service (>20 days).
Is there a more efficient way to do this ?
As of right now, I do not know an easy way to do this. If you are using Field one they have some interesting project service pieces that might be of assistance. You can find out more at crmroadmap.dynamics.com and look for project services in the on development tab. I saw a video of it somewhere, but I cannot seem to find it at the moment.
Thanks for your answer.
We are not using Field one.
I think what I am looking for will be released with the upcoming Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 Update 1 release. The field service add-on looks promising.
Sorry for the delay, found the video of the demonstration I was looking for. community.dynamics.com/.../deliver-projects-on-time-and-on-budget-with-dynamics-crm
