We recently started having an issue with exporting data to excel as a static worksheet. When trying to do so, the file simply opens up as a blank file (see screenshot). We've tried this on multiple entities and have received the same result. However, when exporting the data and selecting the option: "Make this data available for re-importing by including required column headings.", it works just fine. Any ideas as to what's going on?
CRM On-Prem 2015. Version: 18.104.22.168
Haha...so I found the fix. Wasn't a CRM issue but an Excel issue. I'm going to leave this post here in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
To fix the issue do this:
Open Excel and go to File > Options > Trust Center Settings Center Settings… > Protected View.
In Protected View, uncheck all three items.
Then choose OK > OK.
You should now be able to open the Excel files that you were unable too before.
Had same issue on 2011 on prem. Thanks for posting this.
Had the same issue with CRM 2013 on prem.
The fix worked great. Thanks for the post.
