When will Portals be able to deal with UK Date Formats?
Hi Mike, ADXStudio Portal did support this via site settings, I would imagine CRM portals continued with that support as well.
If you are looking at the legacy ADXStudio then in the default.master the body tag sets a bunch of attributes that are then used on subsequent controls for formatting.
<body data-sitemap-state="<%: Html.SiteMapState() %>"
data-dateformat="<%: Html.Setting("DateTime/DateFormat", "M/d/yyyy") %>"
data-timeformat="<%: Html.Setting("DateTime/TimeFormat", "h:mm tt") %>"
data-datetimeformat="<%: Html.Setting("DateTime/DateTimeFormat") %>"
data-app-path="<%: Url.Content("~/") %>"
The one you will want is DateTime/DateFormat. If there is no existing site setting it will use the default you see above of M/d/yyyy, if you create it and set a value then that will override the default.
As far as I can tell, the DateTime/DateFormat Site Setting doesn't work in the new CRM Portal.
I'd be very interested to know if there is a Site Setting that does this properly!
Thanks Charlie and Colin, i had to combine both your answers.
$("body").attr("data-datetimeformat","dd/MM/yyyy h:mm tt");
I have tried this solution, but it did not work.
Does anyone else have any other options I can try?
Adding site setting DateTime/DateFormat worked for me! thanks
I've added this js to my pages, and in most cases the date displays in the correct (UK) format. Except when I'm loading a quick view - any date in the quick view still displays in US format. Any idea how this can be overcome? I've also tried the DateTime/DateFormat setting without success in CRM Portals.
This post solution worked perfectly for me:
