Not sure this is the right place to post this but i am hoping someone can assist me with the following issue. I have a CRM 2016 on-premise environment, which we are using the ribbon workbench (latest version) to hide some buttons from the screen. The solution is fairly small and consists of two entities (accounts/cases). I can make the changes and then try to publish. The publish seems to be taking forever without actually doing anything.
I have tried to create a new solution with just a single entity, making only a few changes and publishing but to no avail.
I have used the workbench in the past successfully and i am unsure how to proceed.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I should have mentioned in the end i have had to cancel the publish as nothing happens
did you try with both ribbonworkbench (the normal one and the one provided in XrmToolBox)?
The publishing process is quite long for the ribbonworkbench. It extracts the old solution, modifies it with your customizations, imports the new solution, publish.
I mean 10-20 Minuts of publishing time is quite acceptable for this tool.
I have tried both and left it publishing over the weekend but without any luck.
Is there any other tools which you may know off to make changes to the ribbon without having to edit the xml?
Thanks for the reply.
I had that same experience some time ago. I was not able to resolve it, but accessing Ribbon Workbench from different machine/browser worked. It is possibly related to caching issue, but I can't confirm.
Try using an alternative access device, or post it or contact Scott/Ribbon Workbench Support:
Hope this helps.
