This happens when using the Dynamics 365 App in OWA or an Outlook 2016 client. After tracking an appointment or meeting, the status does not change to Tracked for a very long time, an hour or more in most instances.
Our tenant is on 18.104.22.1680 and this was not resolved with this version. Another issue where Sent items would show Tracking Pending indefinitely is listed as resolved.
All other items (emails, contacts) go to the Tracked status immediately. We are using Exchange Online with server side sync. This is impacting our organization significantly since users often need to track their own activities for a meeting they are a part of right away. I have SR# 117091394386026] open with Microsoft for this issue and trying to get escalated to the product team currently.
Are any others seeing this delay in Appointments being tracked in their Dynamics 365 tenants?
Would anyone in the community that is using the Dynamics 365 app in Outlook be willing to test this behavior and let me know if they are experiencing the same? Multiple hour delays for a meeting to go from Tracking Pending to Tracked when using the Outlook app. I have another test meeting that is still stuck at Tracking Pending after several days as well.
I have exactly the same problem in both, OWA and Outlook 2016 client. Except the delay is not hours, it is forever! Did you get any reply from MS yet?
We're experiencing the same issue as well. This behavior is erratic and we can't find a pattern as some get switched to the 'Tracked' status right away while others are stuck on 'Tracking Pending' indefinitely. Some say 'Tracking Pending' but still get into the system after a while. We are on Server Side Sync as well so I'm clueless on where to start on troubleshooting.
I think the Tracking Pending is a bug or to be confirmed bug with the app - I believe there is another post whereby other have raised it as a ticket with Microsoft.
Yes I am still seeing this error and I am presently on Version 1612 (22.214.171.124) (DB 126.96.36.199) online.
I have not test e-mails. Contacts seem to be fine. But appointments are the really important item for me and they seem to take 10 + hours.
Is everyone still having this issue? We are and i would love to know if anyone has found a way to overcome this.
I have the same issue, but only with the Entity "cases"
Has anyone on the thread had resolution for this issue?
We are experiencing the same issue!
I had a look at the known issues listed in the documentation and couldn't find a note regarding this problem. At least it should be added there!https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/admin/readme-9#dynamics-365-app-for-outlook
I was expirencing this same issue. What I found was that there were many sync errors in mailboxes of both users using SSS. I disabled SSS and then renabled and ran a test and since then all seems to be tracking as designed.
I am unsure if this helps but tracking an Appointment will go into a pending status until the recipient accepts the Appointment. I have confirmed that if you send an Appointment invite and track the appointment it will stay in pending until the invitee accepts. Then it will be fully tracked.
I am unsure what happens if they never accept and the appointment time lapses. I am testing that now so I will update my response after I see what happens.
Ok, so it looks like the Pending goes away after the appointment start time if the invitee does not accept the appointment. It does however complete the tracking. The only issue we are having is when we implement the App for our users, even if someone accepted the invite it doesn't look like it will be tracked until after the appointment time.
So there seems to be some bug when you first run the app as a user and prior appointments have already been accepted. Eventually and after the appointment time I assume they track. Any appointments after that, the system will wait until the appointment is accepted by the Contact. If they never accept, it will eventually track after the start time of the appointment.
