I made an edit to a status reason (statuscode) value on Case entity and saved within a solution. Since saving, I can no longer get back in to this (1) field, (2) any workflows with this status field or (3) Cases.
Previous status value: UpdateNew status value: Update required
1. I get an error message of 'An error has occurred' (see below) with no log file to download when trying to open the field from within a solution, or customise the system.All other fields can be opened fine.
2. I have a workflow to update the status reason to 'Update' (now 'update required'). I get the same error message when trying to open this workflow from within the solution, or within processes.
3. When trying to open an existing case or create new, the page stays loading 'Requesting data from Dynamics 365' with the spinning wheel.
I have seen no. 3 before, where a system required field had been removed from a form. I added the field back and all was good. However, if this issue is similar and it didn't like that I updated the status value without updating any dependencies, how do I rectify it if I get an error when I try to open it?!
An error has occurred. Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics 365 Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support.
No matter what , you should be able to open the field from customization to check properties.
I would suggest you to open a ticket with microsoft. Or if it is onprem - you can take a look at trace logs.
