Setup is with Exchange Online and server side synchronization for inbound, outbound and appointments, contacts, tasks status for the users.
Synchronized calendar appointment (standard appointment activity type, not recurring) is correctly being created in Exchange and when it is updated to change description or complete the appointment this will sync correctly. We update the date to a new date in Outlook (while appointment is in scheduled status) and this will not reflect in Dynamics 365. Same thing if we go the other way and update in Dynamics 365, it will not update the calendar in Exchange. We can still update the status of the calendar appointment to completed and it will update (either direction) so we know they are still sync'd.
This is a situation we can repeat at will. Can anyone enlighten us?
please check on below article.
is the field inside these sync fields?
Thank you for the article but yes, I have already reviewed the synchronization settings as I mentioned initially and it is setup to sync both directions. Microsoft has very "vague" details on the appointment times, see below. What I am trying to figure out is if it is a bug that the dates are not synching when moved or is it an unpublished feature :)
Anyone have any other ideas?
Same Issue here (9.1.05426) online environment with exchange server in the cloud:
Once the appointment has been synched and the user changes date or time of the appointment, that does not reflect in outlook or on the exchange server.
what makes me think:
- how does the synch mechanism detect all the appointments which need to be synched or synched again? (I hope it does not just update any appointment with the same date and time)
microsoft support updates us:
"... the system prepared the sync process, but for some unknown at the moment reason the CreateInExchange call was never executed ..."
