I am working with a CRM 2016 on-prem deployment and trying to configure the CRM App for Outlook. I have deployed the App for eligible users but having the following issues with Outlook on desktop:
1. Whenever I click on the Dynamics CRM option in Outlook (Outlook 2013) I am presented with the IE Authentication Box multiple times
After entering the credentials 3 times it pops up the ADFS login page in a browser window, logging in to ADFS then populates data in the App for outlook. But shows an error that 'Sorry, we're unable to connect to Exchange' so I cannot track emails in CRM.
Any ideas what might be causing this? Following is my configuration:
CRM 2016 On-premises version 22.214.171.1249

Can someone also confirm if OAuth needs to be enabled on Exchange Server (On-Prem) in order to make App for Outlook work? This a a CRM 2016 On-Prem instance with Exchange 2013 On-Prem.
We have to click cancel on that authentication window. Then we get a forms authentication that pops up. We can then login there and the app loads.
Yes, but this is not the expected behavior. Also the popup appears every time the user goes to a new email and clicks on Dynamics CRM option.
Hi, we are having exactly the same issue with the 3 prompts and then our ADFS login page. When we finally authenticate the app seems to work ok, however I cant imagine this should be how it works. Did you ever get a solution to this problem?

Hi Tom, we ended up logging this with Microsoft who provided the following solution. After making the update we are no longer prompted 3 times for authentication.
Open IIS (inetmgr)
- Expand Server
- Expand Sites- Expand CRM site- Navigate to XRMServices- Click on 2011- Select Content View- Right-click organization.svc- Select Features View- Double-click authentication- Disable Windows Authentication
Run an iisreset

We have the same issue.
One possibility we thought was, to upgrade the CRM to 8.2. As recommended by Microsoft: docs.microsoft.com/.../deploy-dynamics-365-app-for-outlook
But unfortunately was not the solution.
I'm hitting this issue (machine login prompt 3x) after a fresh reinstall of 2016. Anyone have a solution?
