I want to map some custom fields to custom activity entity from Contact. So, I created one custom relationship (1:N) as we can't add mappings in OOB relationship. Everything is working fine when I am creating an activity from related entity navigation but it is not working if I try to create from "Social Pane". Is there any known issue in D365 On Premise (22.214.171.124) version?
because the custom fields do not exist in social panel, thats why it doesnt map into it. Besides that, you cant add field to social panel, this is not customizable.
What you can do ?
- create a workflow or plugin to sync the fields.
All mapping fields will get auto populate when you create record from related entity's navigation. You can also notice that when you create record from navigation then lookup of related entity also auto populate.
If you create records from somewhere else then lookup will not populate that's why all mapping fields also not populate.
To handle it, You can create a workflow that can populate all mapped fields if record created outside of navigation.
Relationship mapping doesn't work from social pane. It only works from a subgrid/ associated views.

Thank you all for the replies. I forgot to mention one point that the mapping from social pane is working in online instance version 1612 (126.96.36.1998) (DB 188.8.131.524).
