Following an advanced find, we have sifted through the list to keep relevant contacts only, to then add these on bulk to a campaign, as campaign responses. Following this, will be tailored approached to known contacts, and we then record these approaches by updating the status and outcome within the campaign response record.

However, when trying to import these contacts as campaign responses, I receive the failure message where the persons name exists more than once e.g. a contact and a lead, or a duplicate inactive record or the same name but different account. Where the name exists once, it imports fine as a campaign response.

How can I get around this to avoid hvaing to manually add those contacts as campaign responses, where the import fails? I should also point out that we are using Dynamics 2011, although not for much longer thankfully.
