A few months ago we migrated Microsoft Dynamics On Premise to Microsoft Dynamics Online, after the migration we noticed that the modified on date off all activities got changed to the day of the migration (which makes sense). After checking this issue with Microsoft Support they said this was by design and they are unable to modify the modified on date of all activities.
So yesterday I figured out that Microsoft has added an new field called "sortdate", this field can be used in the Social pane to sort the activities on the date we want (because we can set the date ourselves). The only thing is that the 'modifiedon' date is being displayed in the social pane.. so chronological the feed is correct but the date displayed says: 'Today' because I updated the field 'sortdate' on all activities using Excel Online. Is there any way to change the displayed date from modifiedon to sortdate?
did you try this : nishantrana.me/.../new-sort-date-datetime-attribute-added-in-activity-entity-in-dynamics-365
Yes, I set 'Sort the Activity wall according to' to 'Sort Date' and it's working as intended (the activities are sorted as we want) but the date displayed in the activity wall is still the modifiedon date.
I am afraid that's the max you can do. Social pane is not customizable in any supported way.
Live with it if possible? :)
I think we can change this behavior using a custom card form.
I played around a bit & used this particular combination of "Default format" with a new custom "Card form" to achieve it
The default card form uses Priority & Modified on by default. Instead of messing with that - I used a new card form. The header can have 2 fields max - I put a party field & scheduled end time there. Then 3 fields in body - I used subject, party & description.
Instead of default format - field labels may be used, and instead of card form - default fields can be used. But the combination of "Default format" + "Card form" works best.
