The Requirement is, I have created a connection subgrid to show the connection(Spouse) between a contact and account. Also I have a field in my form named as Spouse/partner, if there is a connection with the role as Spouse then the connnected to value should be displayed in the Spouse/Partner field. Can anyone help me on this.
Thanks in advance,
If I understood this correct, you should be able to achieve this by a real time workflow on create of connection entity, check if it is from account and to is contact and the role is Spouse/partner and then update the account as Connected From (Account). Refer below-
Hope this helps.
Thanks for your valuable comments on this.
In my workflow, currently I am just checking for a connection with Account alone ( My requirement is to be checked both for contact and account connection), therefore the if condition has the check point on checking Connected To (Account) contains data.
I tried creating a workflow the same way as mentioned by you, but still I don't find the value populated in the Spouse/Partner(Samboer/Ektefelle) field. Is there something I am missing ?
The connection you created is between 2 accounts? Can you share the properties as well
The issue is fixed now. I created a new field with Customer data type and ran the workflow towards this new field and then it works both for contact and Account.
Thanks a lot for your great support and help.
I have come up with an issue again on this.
I have created a new field with customer data type called "Relationship" in Account. I have a connection subgrid to just show the connection.
Below is the steps i follow:
1) Create a new Account and saved it.
2) Clicked on Connect To and choose another account in Connected To and Role as Spouse.
3) The connection subgrid now shows the value.
4) The new Relationship field also shows value but when i click on that value it opens the account which was in that field but in that account, the parent value is not shown in the relationship filed.
What could be the cause?
I have a very simple workflow as you informed in the previous comments but still the value is not populated on the account.
