I am trying to update security for our portal, using the web roles and entity permissions. We utilize 'connections' to tie Contacts to related accounts and want to allow access to those connections and their child records to the Contacts they are associated with. Is this possible to do?
Contact (portal user) - Connections - Account > Child Tasks from Account record (need access)
hi.. is there any reason for using connections?
Portals security/entity permissions relies on D365 relationships not on connections
would it be possible for you to convert your connections to relationships..
What you have described should be doable with Parent Entity Permission Model.
1) Entity Permission "self" for Contact
2) Create child entity permissions for the Connection (choose correct to or from relationship)
3) create child entity permission for point(2) to account (choose correct to or from relationship)
4) create child entity permission for task (related to account in point(3))
It looks a little complicated but should work just fine.
