I want to understand the possibility of adding a additional check box on the Redeem Invitation Page in Microsoft CRM Portals (Customer Self Service Portal). The requirement is to add additional checkbox on the Redeem Invitation Page. I am attaching screenshot of the Page along with this question for you to better understand. Please do let me know!!
What do you need the checkbox for? With a bit more detail, I might be able to suggest an approach.
Hi Nicholas, Thanks for the response. The checkbox needs to be added just for the user consent that the Portal will be using User's personal data. Its just a field on checking the field user will agree the Portal to use the personal data. How is this achievable even through JS? We don't have access to the Page/Code of the Sign In page.
Is there any alternate approach by which this can be achieved!
Just to let you know we have used Redeem Invitation Tab as well where from email we are asking user to click on the link which will help user sign in with the Invitation code and register to login. Can this checkbox be added there in the email template in CRM as an Alternate Approach?
hi Dhawal.. you can add JS to the Content Snippet "Account/RedeemInvitation/PageCopy"
this will add a checkbox after the redeem invitation textbox:
$('#InvitationCode').after('<input id="myCheckBox" type="checkbox">');
Thanks, But my moto is to place the checkbox below I already have an existing account checkbox. Also, if the checkbox is checked it needs to store the information in a field in CRM, it that possible?
However, as you brought up, even though the checkbox is there, that doesn't mean it will save anything back to the CRM. That's the challenge.
If this is regarding a consent checkbox, I'd strongly consider using the "Terms and Conditions" feature available out of the box. It occurs after login, but before the user is able to do anything.
Microsoft's documentation describes it here: docs.microsoft.com/.../implement-gdpr
I also put together a quick YouTube video on the feature: https://youtu.be/NpHwOKM9Ls8
Hope that helps.
That's great thanks for the response Nicholas!!! However, I had few ore questions on this.
1) Can these settings be enabled on Customer Self Service Portal? I already enabled but the Terms and condition page doesn't show up.
2) I am currently using outlook 365 authentication - meaning the user is registered with the company's outlook 365, is this causing problem?
I have applied the both site settings and content snippet settings still the terms and condition page doesn't appear.
Can you please help me with this.
Yes, these settings should work on any of the portals, regardless of the authentication type. Can you share the name and value of the Content Snippets and Site Settings so that I can verify you've got everything needed?
Hi Nicholas, I would like to express my sincere thanks to you for helping me out on this requirement. It is people like you who make this CRM Community work how it should be. I am privileged to be a part of such excellent community. The approach which you mentioned helped me achieve my requirement. Thanks for your help again.
Can you provide a screenshot? I'm not sure which image you're referring to.
Sure I have attached a screenshot for the same!!
However, the images are header images and since the Terms and Conditions page is configured through Content Snippet and its not a web page how can I add those images on this Page?
Additionally I also tried to hide the images but was unable to do that through JS, I tried adding it in the corresponding Content Snippets. Can you help me with this?
I'm not sure why those images would not be loading. That page should be using the standard header and footer that the rest of the portal uses. What is the URL for those images? Are the URL relative instead of absolute?
Those images are already by default appearing on the Login page i.e. the other page through which we login through O365 credentials.
Do they work on those pages, and just not on the terms and conditions page? Can you post the HTML markup for the broken images?
