I want to automate a weekly notification to send to the owner of their open casesIn the notification , it must include a list of their open cases
Case 1Case 2
So if there are 2 users in the system, two notifications will be triggered and mailed to each with a list of their open cases. This notification should be automated and triggered weekly
Dynamics 365 On-Premise v 9.x
I have created a free managed solution you should be able to use to achieve this. You can download it here github.com/.../latest
To summarise the solution has a feature to periodically poll a system view. If there a results in the view it will send an email containing the records to either a queue, or to each owner of records in the results. Specifically you would want to use create a Workflow Task record of type View Notification, point it to the Active Cases view, configure it to send to the owners of records, and set the period to run once a week
There is some documentation here about how the managed solution works here josephmcmac.wordpress.com/.../dynamics-365-workflow-scheduler
The code is all open source on github, but if you want to try this option I would suggest installing the managed solution is the best option
Hope this helps
Yeah We can write a console Application(fetch the open case and send the email notification to the owner of the case).
run the console application using windows scheduler(configure it to run it on every week)
You can create an SSIS package that will query your CRM system (either using Kingswaysoft/CozyRoc or FilteredViews), and based on the results email each recipient a list of their records. You can do this by using the SSIS mail component, or if using a CRM SSIS component, create email entity records for each.
Deploy the package to SQL Server and set a job to run this on a weekly basis.
Hope this helps.
