CRM imports users with a column of data that itself has duplicate values in the business. The import system prompts "found duplicate lookup reference". How can I solve this problem?
Can you more elaborate your issue so that it will be easy to analyse?
It sounds like you're using a non-unique name in your lookup reference, perhaps a name such as 'IBM' for account name, where you have duplicate accounts records named 'IBM'. There are a couple of ways to solve this (staying with the account example):
Hope this helps.
I aggree with Alex's suggestion. While I recommend the first solution to modify the lookup field as one unique reference.
The column in our file matching the lookup field in CRM does not have to be set to the name as it exists in CRM or its GUID. You only need a unique reference of these records to avoid "duplicate lookup reference" issue.
The following post shared one good example where author used the street of the company as the unique reference. It makes sense that every company has another address, so the street could be unique value.
Hope above would help.
