I've got a question regarding tracking e-mails in Dynamics. I already found out that if you have multiple contacts with the same e-mailaddress Dynamics tracks the e-mail to the contact who comes first in the alphabet. Because of this, the customer doesn't want to automatically match an e-mail to a contact / organisation if they track the e-mail. I can't find a setting that can disable this function. They use Dynamics 365 with Outlook 2010 on prem.
Thanks in advance!
You need to change corresponding settings to make sure email address is not auto resolved. Open Dynamics in web browser, go to Settings -> Administration -> System Settings -> Email Tab, as screenshot below. First set "Apply same email address to all unresolved matches when you manually resolve it for one" option to No, then set "Set To,cc,bcc fields as unresolved values if multiple matches are found in Incoming Emails." option to Yes.
