I am getting below error while trying to Test and Enable mailbox
ActivityId: 6d07fe4b-6032-4934-b1cd-1bc6823859d7>Error : System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Bad sequence of commands. The server response was: you must authenticate first (#5.5.1) at System.Net.Mail.SendMailAsyncResult.End(IAsyncResult result) at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.SendMailCallback(IAsyncResult result)
Can someone help ?
Hi - It seems that error is coming from the exchange service System.Net.Mail.SmtpException. This means something is not right from the exchange side for the user . This is also possible that either Email server profile or mailbox profile is setup incorrectly and thats the reason Exchange service is throwing error. Therefore, my suggestions is below.
1. Make sure user exists in exchange correctly.
2. Double check user account , mail box and then server profile.
Hope this will help to resolve the issue.
I have verified the Exchange's incoming and outgoing addresses and their ports are set correctly , I can Telnet to the ports from the server and its working . Also verified that Mailbox credentials are valid by logging to it via portal . Email server Profile is set to Server Side Synchronization and SSL is not used ( per exchange provider ) . " Use SSL for Incoming and Outgoing connections " are set to "No". Authenticaton protocol on Email Server profile is set to " Auto Detect " .
I am using MS CRM 2016 (onprem) and SQLserver is 2016 . Both are Win 2016 servers and Firewall is disabled on both servers . Still I am getting same error when tries to Test and Enable mailbox . Am I doing something wrong ?
