I am using Dynamics CRM 2016 on Prem.
Now I have created an account with the name A.B.C. I want to search the account in the account views but I did not find the account. The search results can not show me the desired account. Are there no characters allowed? Can somebody help me?
Thank you for your support.
I did quick test in crm instance and it works as expected.
Can you try seaching in Advanced find and see if you can find that record.
Try with wild search operator as well like A* or A.B* or A.*
Also check if Record is in Active state and not deactivated.
I have tried it but without any success. The record is also in Active state.
The quick find view in Dynamics is the view that drives the results of searching in the search text box of an entity.
So you need ensure account name in the Quick Find Active Accounts view in Account entity.
1.Go Settings > Customizations > Customize the System > entities > Account > Views.
Double -Click the Quick Find Active Accounts view.
2.Add Find columns.
3.Save and publish, then test again.
If your problem still can’t be solved, could you please screenshot about it?

Thank you for your explanation.
Here you have a screenshot from the settings. These settings are published.
Then I try to find the desired account but I can not see it in the search results. There are only displayed other accounts with the letters A, B,C or that contains the other criterias. I think the problem is because I have selected to many «Find Columns» and we have more than 5000 records. I am sorry I can not send a screenshot of that because it contains sensitive data.
You can check the view that you search, you need ensure the A.B.C account record in current view, otherwise you can’t get result.
For example, I have a record named A.B.C, which owner is Jamie.
When I search it in the My Active Account(default view) view, there are no any results.
But when I search it in All Accounts view, it appears.
I also had search problem with quick find view in Microsoft Dynamics until I developed my own solution.
its simple and fast to use!
You can use it now
I think this is exactly what you wanted
