I have a problem with big size of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Database Size and need a right way for resize it to minimum size.
I test standard ways like shrink file or shrink database but nothing changed.
Is there a way (like get rid of unneeded tables or etc..) to resize database?
Hope you are well.
This can tend to be a very wide topic.
Normally huge databases are attached to an increased size on Audit, Attachments and Annotation tables.
Each table has a different path to understand how to reduce it.
Would you mind sharing your top 10 tables showing row counts, reserved size, data size and index size?
Using SSMS you can generate a report and then share only the top 10 tables by size.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks for your response.
Approximately up to 90% of database reserved by files (attachments & Annotation = 500 GB)
I think for a way for compress files (if it is possible) but i don't know how.
We can't use sharepoint or other system like this for use crm files storage
I am glad to listen to your answer.
thanks a lot.
Moving the annotations to Sharepoint is the most common accepted scenario.
If you have a limitation there, I don't have anything else to suggest as it could fall into unsupported customizations or having to refer 3rd party tools.
Other than moving the files out of the CRM DB, a deep investigation on what data can be deleted, such as old activities or attachments that are not needed, could play a big role there.
Let me know if you were expecting a different answer on my side :)
