Weird thing, when I add a queue in CRM Online the 'Allow credentials for email router checkbox' is not visible when I add the queue. When I save the queue I briefly see the checkbox and the fields where one normally puts the password that the is used by the email router. After the briefest of moments it is gone again.
Has anybody else seen this happening and is there any kind of explanation beyond 'well, weird things happen with Microsoft products'....
Thanks in advance for happy thoughts,
Some of the fields in CRM Online are hidden quickly like that because they are only for OnPrem. Just like when you open a user and the "Domain\Username" field shows up for a split second. Have you noticed that one? :)
Hi Gus, we came to the same conclusion today, reading the email router scenarios doc we only came across the 'allow credentials' remarks in the on premise scenarios...
Additional question for you in that case, for the bonus: we use hosted exchange for outgoing mail traffic through the email router, do we need to create a configuration profile with a different hosted exchange account for every user that wishes to use the e-mail router for outbound traffic? That was another conclusion we reached today...
When sending a CRM email through the email router, only matching email address (from the CRM user and the email router config profile) would be sent, others would keep a status of 'Sending' and not budge...
You don;t need to configure multiple profiles for all the users that need outbound...here is a configuration mode that will allow you to set it up for everyone at once:
Hi Gus, thanks a lot, I will try that one. I have a CRM hosting partner and our IFD customers can use their local smtp server for outbound mail traffic. Our question was for our own CRM Online setup which can't send through the hosting partner... Thanks Aad
