I downloaded SureStep_Client188.8.131.52_Content184.108.40.206_en-US.exe. I tried to do the install by double clicking the exe, and the WinZip Self-Extractor unzipped the files.
However, I then got this message:
Error 5 running command .\setup.exe
I tried this on three different systems...all 64-bit...two Win 7...one Win8...redid the downloads on both Win7 systems with the same results...
The Dynamics AX 2012 R2 CU6 client is working fine on all three systems.
Any adivce is welcome...thank you,
Request you to please try to run the setup as Administrator after extracting the setup files.
I am using the same setup on my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Its working fine for me.
Thank you for the reply. In normal circumstances that would have worked. It turns out the installation was being blocked by a Group Policy prohibiting apps from running in the folder where SureStep unzipped itself; this was put in place to help mitigate the effects of CryptoLocker.
Where did you download that .exe from? I'm having issues finding the right link to even get it to run/install.
